Despite California overall progress these cities face ongoing safety challenges emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts to enhance their security.

California’s Most Dangerous Cities

Stockton

Stockton is a city in California that went bankrupt in 2012. It has a lot of crime with 98.1 violent crimes and 46.39 property crimes for every 1,000 people. Because of the bankruptcy there aren’t enough police and services to help. But Stockton is trying new things like the Advance Peace program to stop gun violence.

San Bernardino

San Bernardino is another city in California that went bankrupt in 2012. It has 11.05 violent crimes and 45.99 property crimes for every 1,000 people. Because of the bankruptcy there aren’t enough police and services to help. But people are working to make things better.

Redding

Redding is in Northern California and has seen more crime recently. It has 9.16 violent crimes and 70.02 property crimes for every 1,000 people. Experts say it’s because there are more homeless people and drug problems. They need help to fix these problems.

Oakland

Oakland is a big city in California with a lot of crime. It has 12.99 violent crimes and 52.49 property crimes for every 1,000 people. They’re trying things like community policing but it’s still hard to stop crime.

Emeryville

Emeryville is a small city in California but it has a lot of crime. It has 165.71 property crimes and 11.24 violent crimes for every 1,000 people. There are a lot of stores and people there which might be why there’s so much crime.
