- Taxpayers living in Maine or Massachusetts have until Wednesday, April 17, 2024, to file because of the Patriot’s Day and Emancipation Day holidays, according to IRS.
- If taxpayers live in a federally declared disaster area such as parts of Connecticut, taxpayers may have additional time to file their tax returns this tax season 2024.
- If taxpayers serving abroad in the military, they may also be granted additional time to file tax returns this tax season 2024.

What’s the deadline to file for a tax extension this Tax Season 2024?
April 15, 2024, is also the deadline to file a tax extension with the IRS this tax season 2024. Getting an extension doesn’t change the payment deadline for tax returns.
