Judge Rules Rancho Mirage Failed to Deliver Promised Affordable Housing Within Agreed Timeframe
Five years after promising to build new affordable homes as part of a deal, Rancho Mirage got in trouble for not doing it fast enough. A judge said the city didn’t stick to the agreement by not giving permits for 126 affordable homes within two years. This came after a resident, Veronica Juarez, complained that the city didn’t follow through after closing a mobile home park where many low-income families lived.
