Evanston’s New Initiative: Direct Guaranteed Income for Vulnerable Families
In Evanston’s 5th Ward families in a particular area are getting a boost to help with their finances. The city council agreed to give them $500 each month from guaranteed income they received as part of a government plan called the American Rescue Plan Act. This guaranteed income aims to help families who are struggling especially those with young children. The project began last year with different groups getting the money.
