U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff, General Mark Milley to visit Israel in the midst of the ongoing Israeli military crisis in protest over the government’s judicial overhaul.

According to JPOST, General Mark Milley plans to visit Israel to meet with Defense Minister Yoav and IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi. The reports stated that Mark Milley to visit Israel so he could have a piece of knowledge about the crisis impacting the IDF as well as how the U.S. Military could help the Israeli military with this crisis.
However, General Milley did not state anything in the news conference if the Biden administration will be delivering a message regarding its opposition to continuing the judicial reform through General Mark Milley upon his visit to Israel.
Mark Milley to Visit Israel Due to Reservists
According to i24 News, many reservists have stopped training after the Prime Minister of Israel passed a law that limits the ability of the Supreme Court to review and overturn the government’s actions. It was also stated by the Walla publisher that even the military leaders warned the officials about the degradation in the IDF’s readiness for war amid the ongoing protests.
Further, Israeli sources have stated that Mark Milley’s visit to Israel is due to his retirement in October. They additionally stated that the general was supposed to visit in June, but got canceled due to the Wagner Group’s rebellion in Russia.
