Dog Daycare Washington Collapsed a Wall Due to Severe Flood
According to D.C., firefighters extricated numerous workers, and 20 dogs from the dog daycare in Washington in the District Dogs building in northeast D.C. John Donnelly, chief of EMS and fire. How many dogs perished in the flood is unclear according to Donnelly. At a news conference, Donnelly said, “The emotions, it’s hard to watch; it’s unbearable.” “This is losing a family member or fearing that you did.”
According to local news source USA Today, pet owners anxiously waited outside the Dog Daycare in Washington hoping to be reunited with their dogs while rescue workers carried wet animals to safety. No employees, according to the source, were hospitalized. According to Donnelly, a wall collapsed, causing water to quickly rise 6 feet up the front of the building and surge inside afterward, “some fatalities for the dogs.”
Donnelly declared, “I believe the district dog employees were heroes.” District dogs have been contacted by USA TODAY for comment. One of the five District Dog facilities in Washington, DC, is located in the northeast. To further investigate the event, Donnelly stated that the department will collaborate with the district’s water department and other pertinent authorities.
According to the National Weather Service, in Washington, D.C., a warning for a strong thunderstorm went out Monday night.
