The police officers described the incident in Southampton as incredibly worrying and asked parents to look there children’s behavior. The paracetamol challenge will put young people’s lives in danger.
Police Officer Donna Jones said teenagers aged 15 to 17 decided to challenge each other to overdose on paracetamol. The one who can stay in the hospital the longest will be the winner. She blamed the social media influencers for making the paracetamol challenge. She asked TikTok to report and not allow this type of TikTok challenge.
Parents need to speak to their children about the paracetamol challenge. They need to explain to their kids the possible danger of doing this challenge that may lead to death because parents should be held accountable for the actions of children who do criminal crazes and even be fined. Doing paracetamol challenge can cause serious liver damage and failure, kidney damage, blood abnormalities, and death, so it needs urgent treatment. It should not happen again.
