Missouri Lawmakers Ponder Tax Credit Initiative to Ease Rural Housing Construction Costs
Missouri Lawmakers Pursue Solutions to Address Homelessness Through Proposed Tax Credit for Rural Home Construction
The National Alliance to End Homelessness reports that approximately 6,000 people in the state are homeless on any given night, a problem that lawmakers in Missouri are currently addressing. Legislative initiatives are being made in response to alleviate the difficulties encountered by those looking for cheap housing, especially in rural locations.
One of the bills being considered is intended to lessen the cost of building homes in Missouri’s rural areas. The goal of this law is to establish a tax credit for builders, which would be extremely beneficial for the building of new dwellings. Notably, builders would have a flexible financing option because this tax credit would only need to be paid back when the homes are sold.
