Michigan Couple Admits to Medicaid Fraud
According to mlive, a Michigan couple admitted they tricked the Medicaid program. The Michigan couple pleading guilty to two serious charges each. Gregory Barney, who owned a counseling center and his wife Jacquelyn, who managed the office, agreed to repay $48,000 they took. The trouble began when Jacquelyn stole patient details from another medical office where she worked, then used them to bill Medicaid for counseling sessions that never happened.

Serious Consequences Await Medicaid Fraud Perpetrators
Michigan’s Attorney General, Dana Nessel said they take Medicaid fraud seriously. Investigators found out that many patients claimed they never met Gregory Barney or received any counseling, even though Medicaid was billed for it. The Michigan couple could each face up to four years in prison for their actions. Michigan couple scheduled to be sentenced on May 30 after being arrested in September 2021.
