According to What’s Up New P, Two politicians from East Bay Sen. Linda L. Ujifusa and Rep. Susan R. Donovan are suggesting a new idea to help families looking after older or disabled relatives. They want to give a tax relief to these caregivers because they often have a hard time both emotionally and with money. If the tax relief goes ahead eligible Americans in Rhode Island could get back half of what they spend on caregiving.

Lawmakers and Advocates Unite to Support Caregivers and Enhance Elderly and Disabled Care through Financial Relief and Eligibility Reforms

Representative Donovan emphasizes the importance of acknowledging caregivers’ hard work leading efforts to provide them with financial relief through tax relief. Senator Ujifusa agrees highlighting caregivers’ broader community impact by enabling elderly or disabled individuals to stay home. Both advocate for new eligibility rules to ensure aid reaches those most in need a move supported by the Senior Agenda Coalition to alleviate caregivers’ financial stress and enhance care quality.
