According to Hartford Courant, Connecticut is thinking about ending a program that helps the film and TV industry there. Some lawmakers like Rep. Jason Rojas and Rep. Vincent Candelora want funding cuts in film and TV industries. They say the state could use the money for important things like schools and helping Americans who need it when they implement funding cuts.

The Dilemma of Connecticut‘s Funding Cuts In Film Industry Support Program

But people in the film and TV business don’t like the idea of funding cuts. They had a big meeting where over 200 of them showed up to say they need this program. Companies like NBCUniversal and ESPN say they’ve put a lot of money into Connecticut because of these tax breaks. They worry that if the program end they might leave for places with better tax deals. Some Americans think the money should go to other things like helping families with kids. But others say cutting this program could hurt the economy. Connecticut has to decide what to do and it’s not an easy choice.
