According to the Department of Justice, an undercover drug operation in Las Cruces resulted in the arrests of six persons.
Six arrested after drug operation targeting drug trafficking at Las Cruces motel
According to the search warrant affidavit of the drug operation, the FBI and the Las Cruces Police were investigating the distribution of methamphetamine out of the Desert Lodge Motel on West Picacho Avenue in Las Cruces.
In February and March of 2024, agents conducted a controlled buy-bust drug operation at the motel. On March 12, 2024, police executed the search warrant during a drug operation, and seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, and a gun from the motel.
The drug operation search was conducted in conjunction with five other New Mexico state search warrants executed by the Las Cruces Police Department. As a result of the drug operation, six individuals were arrested on state drug charges
