In 2020 alone, these areas reported crime rates soaring 129 to 152% higher than other parts of dangerous neighborhoods in the city shedding light on the complex interplay between poverty, segregation, and a crime that Milwaukee faces. Delving into specific dangerous neighborhoods unveils a troubling narrative. From Lake Park’s serene landscapes marred by 3,674 reported crimes to the quaint tranquility of Buchel Park disrupted by 171 chilling incidents, the data paints a sobering picture. Even areas like Haymarket and Mitchell Park, known for their urban charm face their share of challenges with crime rates reaching concerning levels despite their picturesque facades.
