According to Lubbok Avalanche-Journal President Joseph Biden has signed a big law giving nearly $30 million for projects along the Ports-to-Plains Alliance Corridor in Texas, New Mexico, and Nebraska. This money comes from the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024 and shows that both Democrats and Republicans support improving infrastructure along this important corridor. John Osborne, who leads the Ports-to-Plains Alliance is happy about the money. He says that the funding for Ports-to-Plains will help rural areas grow and support important industries like farming, energy, and trade.

Infrastructure Boost Promises Safer Roads and Enhanced Connectivity
Lots of projects will get better because of the funding for Port-to-Plain. They’ll make highways and roads wider and safer. For example they’ll make changes to Interstate Design widen State Loop 335 and make other routes safer. The funding for Ports-to-Plains will also help plan for future projects along the Ports-to-Plains Corridor in New Mexico and the Heartland Expressway in Nebraska. Senator Ray Luján of New Mexico thinks this funding for Ports-to-Plains because it will help every part of his state. Deb Cottier who leads the Heartland Expressway in Nebraska, is happy too. She says that the funding for Ports-to-Plains will help build more roads and connect communities in western Nebraska. This funding for Ports-to-Plains along with what was already given before will help state transportation departments do their projects faster. They’ll make travel easier and help businesses grow along the Ports-to-Plains Alliance Corridor. The fact that both Democrats and Republicans support this law shows how important it is for making the region better. It will help towns and cities in Texas, New Mexico, and Nebraska grow and become stronger.
