According to Chalkbeat, President Biden aims to allocate $8 billion to schools to aid their recovery from the pandemic’s impact. This funding will target enhancing student attendance and assisting those who have struggled academically with initiatives such as tutoring and summer school programs. Furthermore the president seeks to boost financial support for schools catering to low-income students and individuals with disabilities. Additionally he intends to enhance affordability in higher education by increasing the maximum Pell Grant award.

Biden’s Education Budget Faces Scrutiny and Potential Changes Amid Partisan Divide

However Biden’s budget proposal needs approval from Congress and there might be disagreements especially from Republicans who control some parts of Congress. Despite the challenges the Education Secretary stressed the importance of investing in programs that help students succeed and protecting public education from budget cuts. In summary President Biden’s budget plan focuses on helping schools recover from the pandemic supporting disadvantaged students and making college more affordable. But it still needs to go through Congress where there could be debates and changes before it becomes official.
