According to WMFE, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has made a big change to help veterans who were exposed to dangerous things during their service. Now these veterans can join the Orlando VA health care system more easily. They don’t have to go through a long process to get help. This new rule includes people who were in many wars like Vietnam, Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan and more. It also helps those who faced dangerous things during their training or while working.

Proactive Orlando VA Health Screenings for Toxically Exposed Central Florida Veterans

In Central Florida, the Orlando VA is actively screening veterans for health issues, especially those affected by toxic exposure. A recent event saw over 200 veterans signing up with Orlando VA staff assisting in paperwork and screenings. The Orlando VA Healthcare System, led by Timothy Cooke, urges veterans not to delay health checks as early detection is crucial for long-term health. Over 100,000 veterans have been screened with 46% eligible for assistance under the new PACT Act.
