Criticism Mounts as $300 Payout Program Excludes Seniors and People with Disabilities
According to Global NEWS, New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs is facing criticism for giving workers a one-time $300 payout. Calls for Simpler Payment Distribution – Critics Raise Concerns Over Eligibility and Process
Critics like Green Leader David Coon and Liberal Leader Susan Holt say the $300 payout program doesn’t help everyone who needs it. Coon thinks retired, unemployed or higher-income Americans won’t benefit even though they might struggle too. Holt thinks the process to get the $300 payout is too complicated causing delays and questions if the 250,000 eligible the Premier’s estimated is correct. J.P. Lewis, a professor says the application process and how the $300 payout is given out are causing problems. The government had to hire more people to handle applications and give out $300 payout. Critics say the process should be simpler and faster so that those who need help can get it without a lot of hassle.
