Accused of Murder in Chiefs Parade
Two people, Lyndell Mays and Dominic Miller have been accused of murder a deadly shooting during a parade for the Kansas City Chiefs. The shooting hurt 22 people and killed one person. Mays and Miller got into an argument with each other and started shooting at a crowded area. The argument began when two groups of people thought the other group was staring at them. The shooting ended up killing a woman named Lisa Lopez-Galvan who was just watching the parade. Both suspects are in the hospital because they were also hurt during the shooting. They are being held in jail with a bond of $1 million each. People are talking about making celebrations safer after this incident, ABC News reported.
There’s a debate about whether celebrations like this should still happen. Some people want to stop people from firing guns in the air during celebrations to prevent accidents like this. Last year, there was also a shooting at a sports event in Denver. Leaders are thinking about how to keep people safe during celebrations.
