Weymouth Reacts to Emanuel Lopes Guilty Conviction
Murder, Assault and Robbery Emerge from Trial of Weymouth Murders
According to Boston Herald crime news, Emanuel Lopes was found guilty of murder, assault and robbery of Sgt. Michael Chesna and Vera Adams in Weymouth back in 2018. People in the courthouse cheered when they heard the verdict. Sgt. Chesna’s wife and his mom felt relieved and said they finally got justice for him. The trial took a long time the jury agreed Lopes was guilty of all the charges. The trial showed how things went bad that night in Weymouth. Lopes got mad after a phone call and ended up hurting people. He threw a big rock at Sgt. Chesna and then took his gun and shot him. Vera Adams killed by Lopes. He was also in trouble for crashing a car and other bad things he did that night. He might spend his whole life in jail for what he did.

After the trial the town came together to remember Sgt. Chesna and Vera Adams. Even though it’s been a tough time people are trying to stay strong and support each other.
