Attempted Burglary Leads to Dallas Resident Shoots on Walnut Street

Officers found 46-year-old Nickolaus Benitez with gunshot wounds.

Benitez attempted to break into a complex unit, according to initial investigations. The unidentified apartment occupant shot Benitez during the attempted burglary to defend their house.

Benitez was immediately taken to a neighboring hospital by emergency care personnel. Benitez got arrested after being treated for his injuries.

Dallas Police Investigate Burglary and Assault Charges Against Nickolaus Benitez

Nickolaus Benitez was accused of burglary and assault. Authorities have not provided any details about the attempted burglary or the shooting as of this post.
