According to the reports of Georgia State Patrol, a woman died during a multiple-vehicle collision that occurred in Byron last Saturday.

Tractor-trailer Was Unable to Stop During Road Traffic Resulting in Multiple-vehicle Crash
In the published news from 13wmaz, the accident took place around 10:13 pm. when troopers were sent to an I-75 multi-car collision in Peach County, close to mile marker 149. They assert that when northbound traffic came to a stop owing to road maintenance and lane restrictions, a tractor-trailer was unable to stop and impacted seven additional vehicles.
According to the article, Deborah Washington, 57 years old, a resident of Atlanta, the driver of the first vehicle was struck by the trailer and passed away as a result of her severe injuries. A woman was killed in Byron after a tractor-trailer struck her while on her car and six other vehicles.
Since a truck’s bottom is taller than a passenger car’s bumper, when the two cars collide, the smaller vehicle simply slides under the truck, striking the windshield first. The front, side, and rear underride crashes, seatbelts, airbags, and crumple zones do not perform as intended, leaving passengers at risk for serious or fatal injuries.
The road reopened at 4:15 a.m. that Sunday in particular following the day the accident happened.
