The unsettling claims sex crime Attorney Hames gave numerous women a place to stay in his mobile home park for sexual favors. Former renters from 2008 to 2017 said they went into Hames’s mobile home park because of its proximity and reasonable rent of $350 a month.
Witnesses testified Tuesday that Hames would offer to reduce or waive rent if they couldn’t pay it in return for sexual activities. A tape showed Hames directly expressing such requests, according to prosecutors.
Witnesses described Hames’s alleged wrongdoing as problematic throughout their time on his premises. Many women reported Hames peeking into their windows, entering their residences without permission, and following them on and off the property.

Evictions, Legal Threats, and Lease Absence Raise Ethical Concerns in Hames Trial
One witness said she was evicted for refusing Hames’s sexual demands. The story darkened when Hames allegedly threatened legal action for non-payment of rent, including restricting a tenant’s access to her kid until the penalties were paid.
Hames’s former tenants testifying on Tuesday had signed a lease for their lots, compounding the claims. Without explicit agreements, Hames’s conduct is questionable legally and ethically.
Courtroom uneasiness persisted after the trial adjourned. Wednesday’s hearing promises further details and an investigation into Randy Hames’ alarming claims.
