Jing Liao, Liao’s son, confirmed the decision, expressing deep worries about San Francisco’s public safety. Liao, who will fly one-way to Guangzhou, Guangdong, on Saturday, expects to find comfort in his homeland for life.
Jing Liao, speaking Cantonese, said, “The city is too hazardous for my father. San Francisco’s public safety is deteriorating.” The family decided to move Liao to China, because of the incident happen that an 87-year-old man attacked in San Francisco.
In 2020, Liao was brutally attacked and filmed on security tape, starting the touching story. The video shows an attacker aggressively jumping-kicking walker-using Liao to the ground. In subsequent court hearings, Liao called for the attacker’s harsh punishment.

Escalating Attacks Unveil a Disturbing Pattern in San Francisco
The family’s unhappiness was publicized in a recall ad against then-District Attorney Chesa Boudin. Liao, the man attacked in San Francisco had more terrible experiences in San Francisco.
His kid said Liao was assaulted again on Market Street on October 1, the prior year. An unprovoked attacker attacked an 86-year-old Asian man, similar to Liao, according to a police complaint. Liao was taken to the hospital despite his non-life-threatening injuries and described being hit numerous times and sprayed with blood while walking to Walgreens for medicine.
After disclosing he had been assaulted seven years earlier, Liao was pummeled unconscious in the Tenderloin district. Liao told Sing Tao Daily, “I don’t want to drag my son here. He shouldn’t always care about me.”
