Residents of California who are seeking public assistance through CalWORKs should visit the county social services/human services agency that initiated the program. The application for CalWORKS can be done by contacting your local agency by phone, in person, by fax, or by mail.
In a published article in MARCA, some counties in California are now accepting online applications through the BenefitsCal.com website. Moreover, the California Department of Social Services website also provides downloadable applications.

When Will You Receive Your Money?
According to an article published in HARTS VILLE NEWS JOURNAL, payments for CalWORKS are done between the first and third calendar day of each month. This program mainly aims to provide financial support to eligible individuals and families.
Furthermore, the amount that eligible residents will receive vary on the size of household. For example, a household with one person can receive up to $693 in non-exempt MAP or $768 in exempt MAP. As the number of people in the household increases, so does the maximum aid. A household with 10 or more people can receive up to $2,723 in non-exempt MAP or $3,045 in exempt MAP.
