A judge ordered a 15-year-old Wisconsin teenager accused of killing a 10-year-old girl by enticing her into woods to continue in adult court.
15-year-old to face adult charges for sexual assault, girl’s murder, 10
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Chippewa County Judge Steven Gibbs sided with the state in a 22-page decision Monday to keep Iliana “Lily” Peters’ murder charges in adult court.
Gibbs heard the suspect’s lawyers’ request to shift the matter to juvenile court. They said the juvenile system would treat the teen better.
In the girl’s April 24, 2022, death, C.P.-B. is charged with first-degree deliberate homicide and two charges of first-degree sexual assault. Gibbs agreed with prosecutors that a juvenile court would reduce the crime’s gravity.

The judge noted that a 10-year juvenile sentence, registering as a sex offender, and being exposed to the adult system would not be enough punishment for the Defendant. The youngster allegedly convinced the girl to leave a track and explore the woods while biking home from her aunt’s house in Chippewa Falls. She was found dead the following day.
A criminal complaint states that the youngster struck, whacked her with a large stick, strangled her, and sexually violated her body after they left the route.
Wisconsin courts consider anyone over 10 charged with first- or second-degree homicide as an adult.
