Following the deadly collision, a man has been charged with operating a vehicle while the other driver was operating a motorcycle that struck Treat Williams.
Treat Williams Suffered Critical Injuries that leads to his Death
The Bennington County State’s Attorney has finished its investigation, nearly two months after the incident that claimed the life of the Everwood actor. The driver, Ryan Koss, has been charged with “grossly negligent operation with death,” according to a news release from the Vermont State Police. Koss was driving a car that “turned into the path of Mr. Williams’s motorcycle,” causing the actor to suffer “critical injuries in the crash and be subsequently pronounced dead” at a nearby hospital. The medical examiner determined that the actor’s death was due to “severe trauma and blood loss as a result of the crash.”
Koss voluntarily met with the police, was taken into custody for the charge, and then was let go. He will show up on September 25 for his arraignment. Williams passed away on June 12 at the age of 71, according to his family. Treat was absolutely at the top of his game in everything, and he was full of love for his family, his life, and his craft. Although right now everything is so upsetting, please know that Treat was incredibly loved and respected by his family and everyone else who knew him.
