Suspect of Abduction Was Put to Death
The man who lured a 6-year-old girl to an abandoned factory and beat her to death two decades ago has been executed on a Tuesday evening.
The authorities stated that the 45-year-old Missouri man, Johnny Johnson, was executed with a lethal injection at a state prison in Bonne Terre and was pronounced dead at 6:33 P.M. CDT. Johnson was convicted in July 2002. The authorities stated that the suspect led Casey Williams to an abandoned factory in St. Louis, a suburb of Valley Park, and tried to sexually assault the victim before he beat her up, resulting in the young girl’s demise.

U.S. Supreme Court Rejected Request to Block the Suspect’s Execution
According to the handwritten statement released by the Department of Corrections, Johnson had expressed remorse to the people and families that he hurt before he was executed.
The U.S. Supreme Court rejected a late request to block the execution of Johnson over arguments that he was mentally incompetent.
The attorneys who handled Johnson’s case have said in the recent appeals that the suspect had delusions about the devil using his death to bring about the end of the world. However, Former St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch called the delusions nonsense as he believed that the suspect knew exactly what he was doing when he committed the felony.
