A Phoenix police officer who got injured and hospitalized due to the police shooting in Peoria has been released from the hospital. Meanwhile, the suspect was killed in the Peoria shooting.
Peoria Shooting Involving Phoenix Police Officer
According to AZ Central, a Phoenix police officer and a suspect were taken to a hospital Friday morning after a police shot the suspect in a Peoria incident.
The Peoria shooting occurred around 10 a.m. at the Larry H. Miller Dodge Ram Peoria dealer parking lot, a place near 87th Avenue and Bell Road. Sgt. Robert Scherer stated that they were tracking a known violent offender who was wanted on aggravated assault against police.

Phoenix Police Officer and Suspect Hospitalized Following Peoria Shooting
According to AZ Family, during the Peoria shooting, several officers tried to take the suspect into custody. However, the Phoenix police officer stated that the suspect pulled out a gun and began shooting several officers, three of whom returned fire.
One Phoenix police officer was struck by gunfire and rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, the officer was confirmed to be released from the hospital on the afternoon of the same day the Peoria shooting occurred.
It was later confirmed that the suspect namely Junior Reyes was hospitalized with multiple gunshots and died.
