In court on Wednesday, two lawyers spoke up for their clients linked to the sad incident at Rancho High School. One lawyer said his client didn’t get court stuff and asked for a mental health check. The judge, Amy Mastin, said okay. Another lawyer wanted his client out of jail with an electronic watch. But the judge said no, thinking the teen might be a risk to the community.

Four out of nine people arrested for hurting 17-year-old Jonathan Lewis had their cases moved to adult court. They’re 16 or older and charged with murder. The others, younger than 16, will have a court talk to decide if they get treated like adults.
