Child Care Support Program

In response to the concerns voiced by numerous families, the Park City Council has earmarked $1 million during the budget allocation to bolster child care support. This initiative comes in the wake of the expiration of federal funding for child care that was a direct response to the challenges posed by the pandemic, which ceased in 2023. In collaboration with Upwards, a national child care network, the municipality aims to streamline the application process and facilitate the distribution of funds to regulated child care providers. The partnership introduces a comprehensive program featuring two distinct scholarships for eligible families, accompanied by a financial incentive designed to benefit child care providers.

This vital assistance program operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with applications being accepted from January 1 onwards each month. To determine eligibility, gain insights into the program’s details, and submit applications, interested individuals are encouraged to visit Upwards’ dedicated website or utilize their user-friendly app. The collaboration between Park City Municipal and Upwards signifies a concerted effort to alleviate the financial burdens on families grappling with rising child care costs while simultaneously providing support to child care providers, thereby fortifying the community’s overall well-being. This initiative reflects the municipality’s commitment to fostering an environment where families can access quality child care without enduring undue financial strain.
