Using crime statistics from 22 cities, we determined the most dangerous areas. New Mexico has higher crime rates than the national average, making it the second-most dangerous state. Belen

Belen, a tiny city with 7,094 residents, is New Mexico’s 10th most dangerous. Despite its small size, it has 188% more crime than the nation. Belen residents are more likely to commit murder or robbery.

Gallup

Gallup, in northwest New Mexico, ranks 9th. After appearing in a renowned song, it’s now the state’s most deadly city. With 21,935 individuals, violent and property crimes are common.

Deming

Deming, previously “New Chicago,” ranks 8th. It was meant to flourish, but crime is high, like in Chicago. Property crime is high here, making it riskier.

Bernalillo

Famous for its vineyards, Bernalillo ranks 7th. With 10,353 people, violent crimes, primarily assaults, occur 1 in 121 times. Bernalillo is unsafe and one of the most costly and terrible locations to live.

Taos

Mountainous Taos is sixth. It’s unsafe, despite its artistic feel. This area has 1 in 18 property crimes. Taos remains unsafe, despite improvements.

La Cruces

The second-largest city, Las Cruces, ranks sixth. With 103,520 people, violent and property crimes are more likely. The booming metropolis is expensive to live in.

Artesia

Artesia, between Roswell and Carlsbad, ranks fourth. It has a 1 in 32 probability of property crime, despite its low rating. For a little place with 12,366 inhabitants, that’s big.

Clovis

Diversity-rich Clovis, near Texas, ranks third. It’s safer but not terrific. It has the most rapes and homicides.

Roswell

Second is Roswell, notable for its UFO sightings. With 47,533 people, property crime is likely. Damn hazardous and bad location to live.

Los Lunas

Los Lunas will be New Mexico’s most deadly city in 2023. It’s hazardous, despite its wealth. With 15,929 people, violent and property crimes are likely. People must be careful with their belongings.
