Police say a man tried to force a sidewalk-bound juvenile into a Jeep in the 5400 block of North Kimball Avenue around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Citywide Alert: Albany Park teen escapes kidnapper
A 14-year-old girl was nearly kidnapped in Albany Park on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a citywide police alert. Around 2:15 p.m., it occurred near the 5400 block of North Kimball Avenue.
Someone stated a 30-to-40-year-old male approached the sidewalk-bound girl. He attempted to put her in a vehicle. The perpetrator surrendered after placing the girl in a headlock and forcing her into a black Jeep with Illinois license plate EE81455. The victim was strong enough to escape the attacker before he got back in his SUV and drove off.
According to the Chicago Police Department, anybody with information on the suspect or offense should call Area Three at (312) 744-8261 immediately.

Suspect Details Reveal
The suspect had wavy brown hair and red and black clothing that made him stick out during the attempted abduction, according to the police. The police are sharing information to assist in identifying the culprit and aid the investigation.
