According to the US Department of Defense, Defense Secretary Austin and Defense Deputy Secretary Hicks have made a holiday call and spoke with service members from each branch of the armed forces currently in service to wish them a happy holiday amidst the busy weekend of holiday plans of many Americans.
Moreover, Defense Secretary Austin also thanked the service in defense of the nation and in support of America’s partners. Both Defense Secretary Austin and Defense Deputy Secretary Hicks acknowledged with gratitude the immense sacrifice these service members and their families made throughout the holiday season as they work nonstop to ensure that the country is safe from dangers.
