According to The Messenger report, former Russian leader Yekaterina Duntsova, who wants peace in Ukraine, had a problem with her plan to become president. Russia’s Election Commission said no to her nomination because they found mistakes in the papers her supporters submitted. Duntsova hoped to challenge President Putin and make Russia more peaceful and friendly. The commission found about 100 errors, like misspelled names, in her papers. Even though the Election Commission said no, Duntsova is not giving up. She wants to appeal the decision and ask the Yabloko political party to support her. She can’t have another meeting with her supporters, so she’s looking to the party for help. At the same time, a party leader, Grigory Yavlinsky, said he wouldn’t run for president. This adds uncertainty about what the party will decide about Duntsova’s request. In an interview, Yavlinsky said he didn’t know if the party would think about Duntsova’s application. The situation makes the upcoming election more interesting.
