According to the Detroit Free Press, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has proposed a tax savings plan to boost vehicle sales in the State for the third time in a row.
The “MI Vehicle Rebate” presented by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has been unsuccessful in its previous attempts requesting the lawmakers to approve similar plans to lower the expense of purchasing a new electric vehicle in the state.

Michigan Auto Dealers Praise Governor Whitmer’s Proposal to Support Residents and Economy
According to JALOPNIK, the head of the Michigan Automobile Dealers Association praised Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s proposal, stating that the program will support Michigan residents, while also emphasizing the importance of automobile sales in the economy.
The head also noted that the dealers are looking forward to the implementation of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s propositions that will promote this incentive program.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer had requested lawmakers to approve two similar proposals in her budget. However, her proposal for an eclectic vehicle rebate and temporary sales and use tax exemptions on electric vehicle purchases were not included in the final budget signed by the governor.
