Warm Today, Freezing Tomorrow? Boise’s Wild Weather Rollercoaster!

Warm Today, Freezing Tomorrow? Boise’s Wild Weather Rollercoaster!

Boise is soaking up some seriously gorgeous spring weather today. We started off a little chilly this morning—temps were sitting around 41°F—but things are warming up fast. By this afternoon, we’re looking at a high near 77°F, and with all this sunshine, it’s a great day to be outside. Whether you’re heading out for a hike, grabbing lunch on a patio, or just catching up on errands, it’s one of those days that makes you grateful to live in Idaho.

Tonight will cool off a bit, dropping down to around 46°F. Nothing too cold, but if you’re planning to be out late, a jacket might be a good idea.

Midweek Cool-Down on the Way

Tomorrow (Wednesday) will still feel pretty good, but not quite as warm. Highs will settle in the low 70s, with a mix of sun and clouds. Still very spring-like, but not as toasty as today. By night, though, it gets colder—temps could drop down to the mid-30s.

Then on Thursday, you’ll definitely notice the change. Cooler air moves in, it gets breezy, and we’ll top out around 58°F. It won’t be freezing, but it’ll feel like a pretty big dip from Tuesday’s near-80s. And speaking of freezing—overnight temps might touch 32°F, so you might want to bring in those plants or cover them up just in case.

Warming Up for the Weekend

  • Friday: A little warmer again, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-60s. A solid spring day.

  • Saturday: This is your day to make plans. Lots of sun, highs around 67°F, and no real wind to worry about. It’s shaping up to be one of the nicest days of the week.

  • Sunday: A bit more cloud cover, but still comfortable with highs in the low 60s. A good day for a stroll or maybe brunch outside.

Early Next Week

  • Monday: Looks like we’ll start the week a little cooler and cloudier again. Highs in the mid-50s and lows in the upper 30s—definitely a shift, but nothing too dramatic.

Typical April in Boise

Spring in Boise is always a bit of a rollercoaster, and this week’s forecast is pretty much textbook for April. We usually get highs in the low 60s and overnight temps close to freezing. Rain is rare, and snow is even more so—though a surprise flurry here and there isn’t unheard of. This week’s weather is running a bit warmer than average early on, but settles back into normal territory by the weekend.

Quick Recap:

  • Today: Warm and sunny—feels amazing.

  • Wednesday–Thursday: Cooling off, especially by Thursday.

  • Weekend: Gorgeous, especially Saturday.

  • Next Week: A little cooler and cloudier.
