Boise’s Weekend Weather Looks Perfect—Until the Sun Goes Down

Boise, if you’ve been wondering when spring was going to actually feel like spring—well, it’s almost here. We’re getting a taste this weekend, but not without a few reminders that we’re still in that “jacket in the morning, t-shirt by noon, back to jacket by 7” part of the season.

The good news? We’ve got sunshine. The not-so-good news? We’ve also got a bit of a temperature rollercoaster, and yes—some sneaky overnight chills. Let’s break it down so you’re not caught off guard by that late-day breeze or early morning frost.

Friday: Bright, But Not Blazing

Friday kicks things off with a solid spring energy—mostly sunny, high around 72°F, and just warm enough to make you consider ditching the long sleeves… briefly. By late afternoon, clouds start moving in, bringing a slightly cooler vibe with them. Nothing dramatic, just that overcast look that makes you want to grab your hoodie “just in case.”

Expect it to cool off nicely after sunset, with evening temps dipping to around 48°F. Perfect for a chill night on the patio—with maybe a fire pit and a warm drink in hand.

Saturday: Sunshine + Breeze = Layering Required

Saturday is shaping up to be breezy and bright, but don’t let the sun fool you—it’ll be cooler, with highs in the low 60s. And that breeze? It’s got a little bite to it. Think light jacket weather with a strong “don’t forget your chapstick” warning.

The real kicker? Saturday night is going to get colddown to 33°F. So if you’ve been tempted to plant your tomatoes early, maybe hold off one more week (or at least cover them). Also, might be a good night to bring the pup inside.

Sunday: Copy, Paste, and Chill (Literally)

Sunday brings more sunshine—and more of those almost warm temperatures. Highs will hover around 61°F, which is great for a walk or bike ride, just not quite “leave the jacket at home” weather.

By nighttime, we’re back down to 35°F, so once that sun sets, you’ll definitely feel it. This is the kind of day where you start out with gloves and end up carrying them in your back pocket.

Looking Ahead: The Warm-Up Is Coming

If this weekend feels like a tease, hang in there—next week looks amazing.

  • Monday: Up to 72°F, full sunshine.

  • Tuesday: Cranking it up to 77°F. That’s legit short-sleeve weather, folks.

  • Wednesday/Thursday: Hanging in the low-to-mid 70s, with sunny skies sticking around.

Basically, Boise is about to hit that sweet spot where it’s warm, dry, and all your favorite spring things start happening—farmers markets, trails, and patio season for real.

Spring’s Warming Up, But Don’t Ditch the Layers Yet

This weekend is a mixed bag—in the best way. Plenty of sunshine, manageable chill, and that clean, fresh Boise air that makes you want to be outside even if it means a few goosebumps.

So grab your layers, maybe some gloves for those early dog walks, and enjoy a weekend that says, “Spring is close… but not quite finished warming up.”
