Leeds ‘ 29-year-old alumni nurse Mohammad Farooq is sentenced to life-long imprisonment with a minimum period of 37 years to plan a terrorist attack in British military places. Farooq’s plans included a suicide bombing at St. James Hospital in Leeds and an attack on the RAF Manwith Hill base in North Yorkshire.
Details of foil attacks
On January 20, 2023, Farooq was caught outside the maternity ward at St. James Hospital after performing weapons and injuring others. A later discovery revealed a viable pressure cooker bomb in his possession. Farooq’s vehicle included extra materials, including nails, a knife, explosive material, and detailed floor plans for hospital wards.
The study stated that Farooq had been researching the web at Raf Manwith Hill and was near Aadhaar on two occasions, which indicated intentions of targeting convenience.
