Winter has arrived early in the Gulf region, and it rarely looks at any local – ice. While the region is known for its lightweight temperature and temperate climate, parts of the Gulf region have got carpets in snow, which surprise residents and weather experts. Meteorologists accuse this rare snow phenomenon of a combination of cold air from Pacific Northwest and a series of storms passing through the region last week. Snowy pieces are expected to fall through today, although strong accumulation is expected in the mountains and so low in the valleys.

Despite the cold and snow, there is some good news for the residents of the Bay Area. While the temperature is dramatically submerged, a blizzard is expected to pass quickly, and winter’s return to the weekend to the more typical season.
