Not all brake pads are created equally.
Drivers have much to consider when it comes to their vehicles. Of course, there’s what fuel to use and picking quality auto mechanics, but everyone should know the best brake pads. These all-important devices have many options, but some are better than others. Recently, a popular mechanic took to social media and shared which ones he believes to be the best.
The best brake pads may not be cheap, but auto mechanics say they offer protection
Finding the best brake pads is essential for safety. After all, no one wants to be cruising down the road only to learn that they can’t come to a stop when needed because their brakes are faulty. Luckily, pads tend to last between 30,000 and 70,000 miles, which means it’s not an expense most people will have to worry about too often. Recently, a mechanic from Royalty Auto Service took to TikTok and shared his pick for brake pads.
As auto mechanics do, he says brake pads with the highest metal content aren’t automatically the best. From there, he also says that drivers need to inquire about the stopping distance when they are shopping for brake pads because this is how to achieve optimal safety in the case of accidents. He adds that some brakes with the highest metal content don’t have the best stopping distance.
Regarding the best brake pads, the mechanic believes that Akebona is a great brand to consider. He then said they work for several types of cars. His shop primarily uses them on Asian and domestic vehicles. These pads also happen to be made in the U.S. The next option the mechanic presents is Textar and he says they use them on European vehicles. This brand’s brakes are made in Germany.
In the end, the mechanic reiterates that the best brake pads won’t be cheap, but paying for quality will mean that drivers can stop in emergencies.
