A mother dog who had been tied to her doghouse with a thick chain lived outside in the brutal St. Louis winter weather day and night. Four weeks ago she delivered a litter of puppies, and the faithful mom managed to keep them safe and well-fed. Her motherly instincts were nothing short of miraculous.
On Valentine’s Day 2025, Stray Rescue of St. Louis rescued the mom and her family.

Today we had a huge win. we were able to get her with all of her babies. Now they are warm for the first time in their whole lives.
The mother and her puppies were brought back to the rescue organization where the mom was so grateful for the food and water she was given. She was so hungry. The family has been provided with blankets and are seen cuddling and rolling in the comfort and warmth – likely a feeling they had never known prior to having been rescued.

The mom has been named Galentine and she continues to nurse her four-week-old puppies while appreciating every kind work and pat on her head.
she is attention-starved as well, and just wants to climb in our laps and kiss our hands; she is so grateful. What a good mom.
With all the extremely cold weather, the calls for help continue to come in at an extremely high rate. The shelter is crowded, and this family has been staying in the main room.

And today Stray Rescue of St. Louis needs your help. Can someone come and pick up this affectionate mom and her six puppies and foster them? The organization provides everything to fosters, including toys, so it doesn’t cost a penny. It’s a great incentive to foster.
