Police identify name of woman killed in fiery Tiverton crash – Fall River Reporter

A local woman has died from injuries sustained in a fiery crash.

According to Captain Michael Miguel, on Thursday at approximately 9:53 p.m., the Tiverton Police Department received a report of a single vehicle crash in the area of 840 Lake Rd.

When Officers and Tiverton Fire Department personnel arrived, they found a grey 2014 Subaru Impreza had left the roadway, struck a tree, and engulfed in flames. The female driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was trapped inside.

Officers and Firefighters were able to remove the driver from the vehicle. Tiverton Rescue transported her to St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River MA. where she was pronounced deceased.

The driver has been identified as Jennifer M. Sylvia, 52, of Tiverton.

At this point in the investigation, speed appears to be a factor in the crash.

Lake Rd. remained closed in both directions for approximately three hours. Tiverton Police and Fire Departments were assisted at the scene by the Little Compton Fire Department.

The accident remains under investigation by members of the Tiverton Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team.
