A devastating tragedy unfolded in Byron, Wyoming, as a mother-of-four fatally shot three of her young daughters before turning the gun on herself. Her fourth child, a seven-year-old girl, remains in critical condition, fighting for her life.
Tranyelle Harshman, 32, called 911 before taking her own life, informing dispatchers that she had shot her children and planned to end her life. Authorities arrived at the scene moments later, where they discovered the horrific aftermath.

In the chilling 911 call, Harshman told dispatchers that two of her daughters were in their cribs while the other two were in their bedrooms downstairs. She also indicated that officers would find her upstairs. Despite desperate pleas from the dispatcher to keep her on the line, the call was disconnected.
When officers arrived at the home, they found the mother still alive. She was transported to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after.
Friends and family revealed that Harshman had been struggling with postpartum depression. Briana Baker, a friend of the mother, shared: “You never know what someone is struggling with inside their mind. Tranyelle was not the monster this tragedy makes her seem to be. Her children were her main focus in life.”
In the wake of the tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support Harshman’s husband, Cliff Harshman, as he mourns the loss of his family. Another fundraiser has been set up to aid in Olivia’s medical treatment, with organizers stating that the next few days will be crucial for her recovery.
Byron Mayor Allen Clark expressed his sorrow, emphasizing the deep impact on the small community, where “everyone rubs shoulders with everyone.”
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking case, as the town grieves the unimaginable loss.
