A viral video shows a driver in Layton, Utah, in a fender-bender that sent their Jeep SUV rolling onto a set of railroad tracks. Worse yet, the driver lept to safety moments before a commuter train smashed through their vehicle.

A Layton, Utah driver is lucky to be alive after a huge commuter train crashed through their Jeep Cherokee at a railroad crossing. However, this isn’t a simple, tragic case of a vehicle having mechanical issues on the tracks. No, this time, a large pickup truck pushed the SUV onto the tracks.
A viral video shows a large RAM truck come to a stop after crashing into the rear bumper of a white Jeep Cherokee. The impact is more than enough to push the Cherokee forward. Unfortunately, the Cherokee rolled forward, stopping on a set of railroad tracks just before the barriers fell.
However, the driver remained motionless rather than looking both ways and driving across the tracks to safety. After realizing the impending danger, the driver tried to reverse through the barrier and get clear of the tracks. For what it’s worth, the RAM driver reversed to give the Cherokee room.
Even so, it was too little too late. The Cherokee stops after pushing the barrier ever so slightly. Fortunately, the Utah driver made the life-saving decision to abandon the vehicle and make a run for it. Just in time, too; they hopped out seconds before a passing commuter train smashed through the front end of the Jeep.
Moments after the Utah driver escaped the train’s path, the impact totaled the Cherokee, sent a tire flying, and broke the center barrier at the railroad crossing. Worse yet, the impact reportedly caused over $100,000 of damage to the train.
