Toyota and Lexus recalls over 145,000 MY 2024 and 2025 vehicles for brake hoses and rear seatbelts
According to a recent press release from Toyota’s newsroom, the automaker is recalling around 147,000 vehicles. Of the models named in the recalls, the popular Toyota Camry sedan and Tacoma mid-size pickup truck are on the list. It’s not just Toyota, either. Lexus SUV models feature in the recall notice.
Make, model | Model years affected |
---|---|
Toyota Camry | 2025 |
Toyota Tacoma | 2024, 2025 |
Lexus NX | 2025 |
Lexus RX | 2024, 2025 |
The Toyota recall suggests that certain model-year 2025 Toyota Camry and 2025 Lexus NX may exhibit second-row seatbelt damage from manufacturing. In addition to the NX, the Lexus RX models from 2024 and 2025 may have the same issue.
Overall, the automaker estimates that around 41,000 vehicles meet the criteria for the recall. The Toyota recall notice cautions owners “If an occupant is belted in the second-row center seat with a damaged seatbelt, it may increase the risk of injury during certain crashes.”
Toyota also issued a recall for the popular Tacoma pickup truck. Specifically, around 106,000 Toyota Tacomas from MY 2024 and 2025 could experience compromised brake performance as “enough build-up of mud and dirt inside the rear wheels from operating under certain off-road conditions.” Toyota says “This can result in a brake fluid leak, increasing the risk of crash.”
Incidentally, the recall is specific to four-wheel drive models with 17-inch wheels and 16-inch brakes. Toyota says it will notify drivers by April 2025. However, concerned drivers can verify their recall status using the NHTSA lookup tool.
