Four neglected and shivering puppies were rescued last week by the RSPCA in Staffordshire, United Kingdom, after a cyclist spotted the dogs tied to a gate in the middle of a quarry in Alrewas.

The female cockapoos were extremely matted and scared when the Good Samaritan stopped to help. RSPCA Inspector Graeme Brookes was heartbroken seeing their condition. One of the pups had to be carried to the rescue van and while she held onto the inspector’s arms, she just stared. When they arrived at the veterinarian hospital the one pup didn’t want to leave the inspector.
they were cold, wet, shivering and very scared and had probably been left there in the early hours.
Besides being extremely matted and their coats filled with sawdust, their health has been reported to be acceptable. The dogs are about 10-months-old, and although they were microchipped, the information is out of date. All of the dogs needed to be shaved.

They are currently being cared for at an emergency boarding facility. Anyone with information about these puppies is asked to contact the appeals line on 0300 123 8018.

Thank you to everyone who has expressed an interest in adopting these pups. As this is an ongoing investigation, they aren’t available for rehoming just yet.
You’ll be able to find them on the organization’s Find A Pet page when they’re available for adoption: https://www.rspca.org.uk/findapet
