What do you get when you mix a cyclist takeover with a road rage driver? Near disaster.
A driver in Los Angeles, CA, was caught on camera dangerously speeding through a group of cyclists who had refused to move. The driver swerved around the huge collection of bicycle riders as they took over the road, refusing to wait or find another route around the group.

A popular video shows a driver in a white Mercedes-Benz C230 sedan swerving to avoid a massive group of cyclists. The W203 sedan moved from one lane to another, accelerating hard and honking at the bicycle riders.
However, this wasn’t your typical case of spandex-clad road cyclists bleeding over into fast-moving traffic. No, this was a huge group of hundreds of bicycle-bound riders taking over a busy LA street.
Of course, that’s no defense for the Mercedes-Benz driver’s behavior. Several times throughout the video, the C230’s driver weaves between the disruptive bicycle riders, nearly hitting them in the process. While most of the two-wheeled participants in the takeover were on bicycles, some were on e-bikes and small motorbikes.
Of course, powered or not, they’re no match for a maniac in a Mercedes. Unfortunately, the sedan driver’s road rage tantrum also took him into lanes of oncoming traffic. Luckily, there weren’t any other vehicles in the other lanes as the little white Mercedes-Benz sped around the cyclists.
Needless to say, the display of road rage split opinions online. Some viewers used the comment section to voice their dislike for cyclists. One viewer questioned, “Why do the cyclists think they own the road and don’t have to adhere to traffic laws?” Another viewer replied, “These bikers should be arrested for this.”
On the other hand, some viewers complained that the driver’s behavior was nothing short of criminal. “Vehicles and bicycles must share the road, but the Mercedes driver’s actions constitute reckless driving, regardless of the circumstances. The driver has demonstrated a criminal offense,” a commenter replied.
