At the Sussex County Animal Services, in Virginia, a shelter dog named Ruffles helped to rescue a runaway pooch that had escaped from his owner.
According to the shelter, the dog had been running loose and refused to come back, no matter how much the owner and the shelter staff tried. And so, the situation had become dangerous as the staff had become concerned for the dog’s safety.
We want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to our amazing shelter dog, Ruffles. Recently, we were faced with a challenging situation when a male dog escaped from his owner and was running loose, refusing to come close to us. It was a bit of a standoff, and we were concerned for his safety.
No kidding! Officer Ruffles came to the rescue. She used her charm and calm demeanor to lure the dog back to her. Thanks to her, the dog is safe and back with his owner.
Ruffles, you truly are a hero in our eyes. Your ability to connect with other dogs and help them feel safe is a testament to the incredible spirit you have. We’re so grateful for everything you do, and we couldn’t be prouder to have you as part of our shelter family!
