Stray dog discovered day after Eaton fire with burned paw pads has yet to be reunited with owner

At the Pasadena Humane Society, this beautiful male Husky mix has yet to be claimed by his family. He was found in Altadena, one day after the fire broke out in Eaton.

It had been on January 8 when the survivor was rescued by Good Samaritans and brought to the rescue organization.

This dog was found outside near the site of the fires. He is covered in burns and very dehydrated. His paw pads are singed, and he is coated in ash. Despite being understandably shaken from his experience, he is incredibly sweet. He is currently being treated by our Veterinary team in our ICU, where we are providing him with wound care, pain medications, and fluids.

He has been doing very well and continues to be treated by veterinarians. Despite all this dog has endured, the staff sings his praises at how sweet he is. Anyone who gives him attention, he is so grateful, he adorably leans into them for more rubs and hugs.

It was incredibly painful for him to even put any weight on his feet, his eyes were irritated, and he was very dehydrated.

Our veterinary team is treating him with medication and fluids and his condition is currently stable. In spite of all he has been through,

Sadly, his owners have not come forward yet, and the shelter is asking that friends and family share his photo. Of course, there might be reasons his family is unable to afford his care at this time, but the Pasadena Humane is glad to offer help and assistance.

The rescue organization does not want cost to be a barrier that prevents pets from getting back home to the families who love them. Thanks to the generosity of supporters, they are able to cover the cost of emergency medical treatment for the animals in their care.
