Missing your cat is one reason to go home, but do it responsibly. Don’t speed over 130 mph while intoxicated.

I’m not advocating for speeding home to see your cat, but I get it. Missing your pets is difficult, but drivers need to make it home safe. One man in Norwich, Connecticut risked it all, speeding over 130 mph because he wanted to see his cat.

Man tells police he drove over 130 mph because he wanted to see his cat

Instead of making it home to see his cat, a Norwich, Connecticut man spent some time in jail. State police officers caught him driving over 130 mph.

The man was clocked going way too fast on Interstate 395 South, near exit 11 early in the morning. He blew past a trooper who was conducting proactive speed enforcement at the time.

Once police performed a traffic stop, the driver explained that he was trying to get home to see his cat. The man was identified as 27-year-old Logan Mirmozaffari.

During the stop, officers noticed that Mirmozaffari smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech, and had glossy eyes.

According to CSP News, he agreed to submit to Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. Due to allegedly failing these tests that sober drivers can easily complete, Mirmozaffari was arrested.

He has been charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and reckless driving. Mirmozaffari was released on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear at Norwich Superior Court on February 6, 2025.

At least he is out and able to hang out with his cat for now. It helps his case that he was cooperative and immediately pulled over by police officers. Mirmozaffari’s charges would be much worse if he attempted to evade police or fight them.

However, his cat might be disappointed by his irresponsible and dangerous behavior. Plus, the loss of $500 that could’ve been spent on cat nip or tuna.
